Is it still possible for me to end up with pest-free plants, if I want to stick to organic gardening?

One thing you could do is try and increase the amount of "good" pests eg. ladybirds, that feed off pesky pests.
There are some really good books on the market at the moment. Why not try your local farmers / producers, they helped me.

Somehow I doubt it.

Never "pest free" but then that was difficult with pesticides! you can greatly reduce pests using crop rotation and by reducing over crowding. Plus growing pest resistant varieties also help.
Many of the old fashioned varieties are very resistant!
Good luck

You can buy organic pest killer or i think you can buy bugs that feed on the bugs etc.
