I’ve used a live" trap baited with Tuna. When trapped, I take them to the Police station and insist that if the owner claims them that they be "fined" for not having a license or not having it on a leash. They will not get a second chance in my garden regardless if they have 9 lives or not.

Get one of the motion activated sprinkler heads. It turns on when it senses motion shooting water at whatever moved. The cats will soon learn to stay away. Most garden centers have them.

It works for some and not for others. Here’s what I have done and found it works rather well.
Fill two litre bottles of water and place in strategic parts of the garden. Cats sees a reflection in it and won’t do their business there.
Pepper or chopped chillies sprinkled on the ground.
    Grow herbs

    Cost about £10

everyone asks that one & i’ve never seen a good answer except – get a dog.
i’ve heard & tried mothballs, maybe they hate the smell – but it doesn’t stop them.
i reckon razor wire on top of your fence.
& for ever cat killed it’s about 50 native birds saved & more balance bought back into the environment. the domestic cat when allowed out of the house is nothing but a pest. it’s a bred disease spreader that wouldn’t exist without cat lovers.
in my country (Australia) it has devastated the native animals & birds causing the extinction of whole species.
it spreads toxoplasmosis which is fatal to all marsupials (kangaroos, koalas, wombats, etc)
so be brutal it’s your yard & these things should NOT be allowed to roam at night (what if i climbed your fence & took a dump in your yard each night) a good swift kick in the arse (the cat) & asking your neighbours to keep there animals out of your yard works best.
if your neighbours don’t have cats – improve your soil with blood & bone (using the cat). the smell will maybe give the other cats paws for thought.
i know it’s brutal but, they deserve it.
    hope this helps

    Get a dog.

Failing that………. lion dung also deters them! Do you live near a zoo???

OK, not practical???? Avoid the chemical sprays or pellets you can buy. Not good if you want to plant veggies. Dangle old cd’s or blocks of wood covered in foil from some canes, the cats will avoid things that will ‘glimmer’ in the wind. You can also tie old bags to the canes and the noise deters them.

They don’t like the smell of coffee so sprikle old coffee grindings around your beds (that also helps with slugs).

Garlic………….. if you want to get some veggies going. Get plenty of garlic going. It will help with the cats (and loads of other stuff) and you really can’t beat home grown garlic!

They love cat grass so if you can plant some elsewhere (outside the garden) they may go there instead???

Try a cat repellent such as Stop Dog & cat repellent
